Community atmosphere mingles with regional music talent to meet Utah music-lover’s dream: a full-blown symphony in a smaller city – without financially burdening the already stretched municipal budgets.

The Oquirrh Mountain Symphony (OMS) presents “Spotlight Spectacular Encore” on Friday, May 21st, at Elk Ridge Middle School (3659 W. 9800 S.) at 7:30pm. The performance will feature the winners of the RMO’s 6th Annual Concerto Competition: Whitney Pizza (piano), Brenden McQuay (tuba), David Horton (piano) and Alexis Ericksen (violin). Refreshments will be served immediately following the performance.

The upcoming season for 2010-2011 is entitled “I Heard it at the Movies” and covers the spectrum from movie soundtracks to Cartoon Classics (how we learned to love classical music).
